Saltwater vs. Freshwater Fishing Rods
Many around the nation enjoy the calming, yet exciting nature of fishing. Some enjoy freshwater fishing in lakes and rivers. Others enjoy the deep blue sea and saltwater fishing experiences.
In both situations, the type of equipment you use can have a great effect on your fishing success. When you feel the need to run to the local creek, river or lake for some great freshwater fishing, you’ll want to take a few things into consideration as you look for an acceptable rod. If you are looking to grab some smaller, lighter fish you’ll want a lighter more flexible rod to match your needs. If you want something a little more aggressive like a large bass or catfish, you will need something that can handle a heavier load. Go with something that is longer and heavier.
When going to the ocean for saltwater fishing, you’ll want to take into consideration the possibility of catching something big and heavy. If you are on a boat out in the ocean, you will want a rod that is very strong and can handle anything. If you are fishing from a pier you’ll want something that is shorter. If you like to fish from the shore, you should grab a rod that is longer and will cast farther.
